Hoodwinked Too: Hood vs Evil
When Blue Yonder created the Hoodwinked franchise, the aim was to deliver a fresh and lively take on the animated family comedy, with unique characters that could leap into different genres with each new installment. If the first feature was a send-up to classic detective films like The Thin Man, the sequel, penned by Todd Edwards, Cory Edwards, Tony Leech and director Mike Disa, is more of an action film that places the characters in an 80's Lethal Weapon scenario. The story finds teen Red (Hayden Panettiere) training in a distant land with a mysterious covert group called Sisters of the Hood. She is called upon by Nicky Flippers (David Ogden Stiers)--head of the Happily Ever After Agency--who teams her with the Wolf (Patrick Warburton) to investigate the disappearance of Hansel and Gretel (Bill Hader and Amy Poehler). The characters of Granny (Glenn Close), the Woodsman (Martin Short), and Boingo (Andy Dick) return and are joined by colorful new characters. Co-produced and co-financed by The Weinstein Co. and Kanbar Animation. January 2010. |
